SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
Coordinates all aspects of the district testing
program including planning, administration, analysis, dissemination
and utilization of results to enhance instructional effectiveness.
TASK NO./DESCRIPTION
- Provides service related to use of testing.
Assists schools in utilizing data for instructional and program
development.
- Oversees administration of district wide
and state mandated standardized testing programs.
- Develops new testing programs and tests
including Objective Referenced Tests from an item bank using Rasch
scaling, Norm Reference Tests, performance based and attitude
measures.
- Reports district and individual school
test results. Analyses test results to determine implications
for curriculum and instruction and produce written report of district
and individual school test results.
- Provides training to school staffs, parents
and accountability committees.
- Schedules school testing, orders and maintains
an inventory of materials Delivery and collection of testing
materials to schools
- Supervise and conducts scanning and scoring
of Objective and Norm Referenced tests.
- Supervises the activities of an Assessment
Specialist and Office Technician
QUALIFICATIONS
- Equivalent of a Masters degree or higher
in educational research or educational measurement, must include
psychometric course work.
- Minimum of two years experience in district
wide testing program administration and data analysis
- Knowledge of Item Response Theory and test
construction from item banks.
- Competency in use of PC computer programs.
- Competency in accessing data from mainframe
computer.
- Experience in scanning and scoring test
answer sheets.
- Some heaving lifting of testing materials
required

- Reports to Executive Director of Planning,
Evaluation & Measurement
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Twelve month contract (260 contract days)
- Work Schedule exceeds 40 hours during peak
periods
SALARY RANGE
$48,034 - $51,036
